Hi i have microsoft outlook 2000 and microsoft outlook express 6.0 i want to use express for my hotmail (which its already set up that way) and outlook strictly for business use.

my msn contacts are on both of them and i only want them on outlook express. i've got it so far to where outlook receives business emails only and outlook express receives personal emails only but outlook and outlook express both have my msn people as contacts and i can't seem to separate them without it changing both programs. please help thanks

Do you want MSN to be running when using Outlook?

There are a lot of things which turn-on MSN messenger associated with OE. Having/accessing a hotmail account, viewing Contacts in the Layout (contacts = your address book entries and your msn contacts), having run msn at startup enabled and automatically load msn when OE is started enabled.

Its so long since I used Outlook that I don't know specifically how to make the same configuration changes to it. Outlook afficianados should know the answer.

Basically you will need to turn all such options off in Outlook and only enable automatically load msn when OE is started within OE.
