If I were to put AS3 on top of my cpu, how often would I have to replace it? Every month?
THANX:D
PS: Where can I buy those little post-it notes that Budfred uses?;)

You would have to replace it every month if you take your heatsink off every month and mess with your CPU, otherwise you leave it on for years. It is a one time thing usually. If you have to remove the heatsink and CPU, then you have to reapply. If it is working okay, you just leave it alone. It actually works better, according to AS, when it has time to sit in the heat and get its molecules lined up...
You can get the postit notes at any office supply store, most discount stores and even most drugstores... Just look for the small ones.

Oh ok, but surely the effectiveness wears off overtime right? How often do you change yours Budfred?
Also, I'm guessing there's a reason why people don't put the paste ON the pad right?:D
Thanx:D

Paste on pad = Very bad... Don't even think about that one. The layer of paste you want is not quite as thick as a piece of paper. If you put it on the pad it would squirt all over and if you have an AMD chip, better have a spare handy...
It is not supposed to wear out. It is unlikely that it will wear out in the life of your computer anyway. It is not like oil in the car that is constantly subjected to wear. It is only subjected to heat and cooling and that is what it is designed for....

Let me adjust Budfred's equation.
Paste plus Pad = Bad.
Remove the pad entirely if you will be using paste!!!
How's this......
Paste plus pad = very crispy critter....
