Phone & Fax sofeware

I am looking for a software that can manage a phone line that I receive both fax (this is through my winfax) and phone calls.
Ideally I am think of something that will launch my winfax if the call is a fax call or allow the phone to continue to ring if it is a voice call.

Anyone know of any such programs free or other wise but free would be nice.

I used a program several years ago called Answer Works

It was discarded after about 3 weeks for being unreliable

Two major problems you will be facing using a single line for Voice / Fax

1.The Computer Must answer the call to detect if the call is Fax or Voice
2.It can not pass the Voice call over and allow it to continue to ring
Unless you have distinctive ring feature enabled

I believe that works by calling the phone company and paying them a few bucks extra each month to get the distinctive ring option....

I have never used those programs because I don't keep my computer on, but I have had a number of them over the years. I believe there is a suite of programs called Communicator that is supposed to be pretty good. It is usually available on sale periodically.

I thought winfax was able to do that....my poor old Bitfax does, but I use it so seldom that I can't remember how to configure it.
