Guys after upgrading my Windows in to XP in my P3 Laptop. Everytime I shutdown windows I have to shut it down the power manually unlike before. Previously power off will shut down by itself now I have to power off manually after reading the message that its already safe to shutdown. Pls help...

If you have easy cd creator go to roxio site D/L xp driver

or try You have "automatically restart" selected. (Press WinKey-Break, or (Start/Run/Sysdm.cpl), Advanced Tab, Start Up and Recovery/Settings/System Failure/Unmark "Automatically Restart"/Ok/Ok.

or Make sure you have APM (Advanced Power Mangement) enabled in your BIOS.

or Goto /Start/Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance/System.
Select the Hardware tab and then select Device Manager.
Under 'View' menu select Show Hidden Devices. Double click NT/Apm/Legacy InterfaceNode and enable device.
De-select show hidden devices again and re-boot.

Yes- In following up on one of YODA'S suggestion, I found that in many cases like this, simply going to:
Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance/Power options/APM tab and check the "Enable Advanced Power Management Support" will do the trick.
(Re-Boot) :p
