I wonder if you can help with a problem. Since this weekend, when I try to run Word 98 (on my windows 98 system) it won't open. I get a message saying the Winword programme has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. The details say "Winword caused an invalid page fault in module VBA332.DLL at 017f:6519ae9d.
I've tried uninstalling and then reinstalling Word (although Winword won't uninstall).
The Microsoft knowledge base suggested a temporary workaround - using the /a switch in RUN - which works. But I can't find a permanent solution. It doesn't seem to be the three most likely causes Microsoft suggest:
a) deleting the data key
b) renaming the global template Normal.dot (it won't let me rename)
c) clearing the startup folders (some documents won't clear)
Might one solution be to remove VBA332.DLL and reinstall it? But I've no idea how to do this.
