Computer won't boot!

Hi all, hope someone can help.

My computer was running just fine this morning and now it won't boot at all. On starting it it tests the ram just fine but after that it stops, beeps, and then a "enter CURRENT password" appears. Problem is no password works, have tried everything and still nothing. Boot disks don't work, system disks don't work, can't get anything to work. Anyone have any ideas??

Computer is a Gateway 400, AMD K6
8 gig HD
320 mb ram
Win 98

did you have a password set in bios ? & have you forgotten it ? or have you been into bios & set one (by mistake) ?

No I sure haven't set any passwords at all.

You could try resetting the CMOS or clear it by removing its battery for a while.
