View Full Version : Portable Agp Slot?
I've been aware that companies make portable PCI expansion slots for laptops, and recently I've been wondering if the same is true for AGP slots. You see, for a laptop user a portable AGP expansion system would be akin to a small piece of heaven ^_^. I havent had much luck searching for it on the internet either. Are portable AGP slots possible, and are any companies working on such a project? Given the soon-to-be advent of PCIexpress, I'd also want to ask if portable solutions are being developed for those as well. Thanks for any comments/help that you guys have.

Hmm I don't even know what is a portable PCI slot:eek: But, I've heard of a company called Alienware that now have just succeded in making upgradable notebooks. Now you can, actually upgrade your notebook(made by Alienware of course) with a new graphic card if you wanted too.;)
PEACE:D

The only thing that I know of that might do what you want is one of those multiport connection bars they make for laptops. You would have to be able to find one with an upgrade to a better video, but even then it might not be possible because it would connect through your existing video. This is why deaktops can be nice in spite of being space hogs...

The majority of laptop companies are getting ready to roll out new laptops that have their graphics based on the self-upgradable radeon 9800 mobile series
