Hi all
If I recall win 98 can't see more than 500 meg of ram and I would guess that there is no tick to make it do otherwise.
Does everyone concur (not that I am going to send back my fresh smelling 2 gig of ram,)
Win9x can "see" the full 4GB a 32bit processor will allow.....but it has untweakable errors over 1.5GB and it has problems with more than 512MB, these can, to some extent, be "tweaked" out.
The whole problem is how the 9x kernel handles virtual memory.

I had Win98 throw a wobbly when I installed 768meg of RAM as I forgot about needing to tweak for more than 512. It gave me an excuse to finally upgrade to XP.

Yeah 98 won't even past the splash screen.
My wifes dad gave me win 2000 pro but everything had been running SOOO good with 98SE that I had no reason to install it. I guess this sounds like a good excuse to go that way.
Thanks guys

That was the problem my 98 had with 768meg. Then it decided to blue screen before ever reaching the splash.
