Hi, Checking a friend's computer it seems that web pages are not being stored in the temporary internet files folder. Hence, no links in the history folder. Ive checked the settings and everything seems OK - e.g pages to be kept for 30 days, folder not to be emptied when browser is closed. System is a Pack Bell 350 running Win 98 2nd edit and Internet Explorer. Not sure which version but about 3 years old.
Thanks for any tips. Bob (in UK)

He He - Its usually the other way round - trying to get rid of them.
You could check the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
entry from Regedit and see where the Cache is set to point-to, just in case the cache is not actually in its default position.
Repairing (via AddRemove), reinstalling or upgrading IE would all be possibile ways forward.
Ummm....so what's the problem here?
The exist a myriad of utilities to do exactly what the system in quetsion does on its own....

Thanks for advice so far. I won't see him for a few days but reinstalling IE sounds a good option. In the meantime any further ideas welcomed!
