If you are messing around with Kazaa it is hard to know what you actually downloaded. I hope you are running a full array of security scans...

Do the file names have a double extension like you have descibed; eg filename.real.avi

??

If so - that is not normal.

There is a virus going about that puts a double file type
(****.123.321 as an example) Don't know full details of it though.

Yes, I suspect you have already successfully run that file and now you will have to clean up the mess that it caused.

As I have ranted about before... Kazaa is a vermin farm, it comes with garbage and it invites more garbage in with it. If you absolutely insist on using it, you need to run security scans every time you use it, you need a good firewall and you need an updated antivirus checking every file downloaded and installed......

If you still insist on Kazaa, but don't want the garbage it comes with (spyware, adware, everything else that screws your computer over...) download Kazaa Lite. I believe you can find that at kazaa-lite.tk
(of course, you can still download garbage.)
good luck.

*EDIT* and the first extension is usually just crap. try using DivX.

The first extension is there usually to lull you into downloading a VIRUS!!. You are best served deleting it and running scans to find and repair the damage.

Also, Kazaa-lite is a program that serves low calorie maggots, but they are still maggots and will mess you up if you don't take major precautions to protect yourself....
