I have just replaced my Prophet 32 mb card with a MSI FX5200 128 ddr.
When I tried to load the setup disc I got "setup does not support win 98" so I went to Nvidia and downloaded the drivers for win95/98. The card installed OK, although a lot of the features don`t appear to be present. Now I find that my PC freezes frequently when I am playing games, but also at other times when not gaming. The info on the graphics adapter in device man says " Nvidia AGP(PCI Mode)" I have win xp pro on order so I should be able to load the proper setup software when that is installed, will that help???????.
Sys: P3 500mhz, 256sdram,DX9.(total upgrade iminent)
Thank`s for any help.
Tom.

Well, when the setup disk tells you it doesn't support win98, you just know your gonna have problems. My only suggestions would be to see if you have more current drivers on your motherboard manufacturers web site(especially AGP drivers). Also, you may want to think about heating problems. If you have an older PC and you stick in a new video card you may be running a lot hotter inside the case than you used to. Check and see if their is a temp sensor for your Video Card (Software bundled with your video card maybe?). Heat can cause lock up and freezes as well as driver issues. They make a little PCI fan thingy that sucks the air straight off your Video Cards fan and blows it out of the PC. I know some guys who like this little gadget.
