I installed a second hard drive on my pc. I disconnected my zip drive and used that circuit. I now have my main drive as the Primary master (drive C) and the second drive as the Primary slave (D,E,F). As my secondary I have my DVD drive (G) as the master and my cd burner (H) as the slave. This was not changed with the new installation. No my system does not see the cd drives. If I place a cd in the drives they spin up but do not auto start. If I go to run the drives are not listed. They are also not listed in windows explorer. If I try and start a program that requires the cd to work it pops up a window telling me to insert my cd in drive d. However if I change this in the window to G it will run fine.

Do I need to delete those drives and let the system see them as new drives? Or what do I need to do.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Scott

Go in to cmos setup by hitting delete and make sure ide drives are listed in the bios. You might have a detection selection of ide drives use that. Also make sure all connections are secure and jumpers on the drives are set correctly.

Could you explain in more detail how to check the bios? You say by hitting delete, but when do you mean?
