Any special setup for a new flat panel?

Hi,
I just got a new samsung 172n flat panel. Do i have to set up anything or check anything? I overheard one of my friends put one up and something happened to that computer. Thanks

That should be straightforeward as far as I know. It will come with a driver disk. Make sure it installs ok. May then need to adjust the screen reslolution to fit the new screen but thats about it.

Otherwise a monitor is a monitor & thats pretty much it :p

I have set up a few and the only thing that might be different is that some are digital and some are analog and some are both. This may require an adapter or a different video card, but you will hopefully know that before you buy the monitor and make sure you buy one that is compatible. You will get the best picture if you run in the native resolution of the monitor and that should be discussed in the manual that comes with it.

Check Win update also, as Samsung has put new drivers out for their lcd's. May not show up with yours but did show up for mine with win XP. Also on the Samsungs you can drop the resolution with no problem. 1280 might be too small.
