Has anybody besides me had problems with game speed and crashes with a GeForce 2 MX? Mine is specifically a DELL but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. It just plain doesn't run smooth. In games after a while it stops and either crashes or does an infinite loop. Is this DELLs choice of motherboard or the graphics card or what? Do you think replacing the graphics card could solve the problem? If anyone has any opinions or ideas reply back. I'm not necessarily looking for help just more information on this subject.
Thanks

I'm not worthy for a minute of your time.
Well I think the standard questions are in order here...
What do you have running in the background?
What version of DirectX are you running?
What version of the video card drivers are you using?
And any other system info you have would be very helpful...

Im running a Geforce II MX on an old Socket 7 system....
I know for a fact that the card can cause the computer to crash or go into loops were you cant do anything.
Ive overcome the problem by placing a Graphics Fan on the card to keep it cool(I like fans http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif ) and trying out the drivers from either Vnidia or Hercules (as my cards a 3D Prophet II MX). Maybe try asking Dell if the card has a specific manufacturer and getting there drivers or if its generic get the drivers from www.Nvidia.com). (http://www.Nvidia.com).) Im pretty sure www.rivastation.com (http://www.rivastation.com) has a rating system for drivers so you might be able to find a good stable driver that runs fast there. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Just a few ideas.....oh btw dont try overclocking a Geforce II MX there far to unstable and will crash all the time (trust me to go for budget rather than quality http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/tongue.gif )
