E-mail trouble

Hi all
I am having trouble with getting email it keeps saying failed to connect to mail sever i am useing window XP home can someone tell me what to do so i can get mail?
useing outlook express 6

Two things to do.
One try a reboot, sometimes that clears problem.
Two get in touch with your isp and see if the problem is on their end. They will also {if they are any good] walk you through any problems with their mail server.
Happens to me and a reboot usually fixes it.

Also, make sure your settings for the email server (usually POP and SMTP) are correct. You can usually find them listed somewhere on your ISPs webesite. Consider trying another mail program if you continue to have a problem since this will tell you whether the problem is with OE.

Also make sure that your firewall (if any) has not blocked it from accessing the net, most ISP have a link somewhere on there site that tells you if they have problems with server or need to do maintenance to a server, so look for this link on your ISPs site.
