Would it be possible to use both a sound card and the onboard sound? The reason being, my sound is an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 that I use for recording guitar. The thing is, the sound card doesn't allow me to use the PC volume bar, and some other things don't work right when I have it installed. For example the 3DMark sound test won't run with the card installed, without it everythings fine, just things don't sound as good.

Yes I do have up to date drivers installed.

Anyone?

Is the device shown as working properly under 'Device Manager'? No conflicts?

As its all installed fine, all that you should need to do is go into audio properties & set the defaults for playback & recording to the appropriate sound cards.

If the defaults are set to the 'other' device then thats probably why the controls dont work.
