Dear Kay:

Welcome to the forum.

You need to post more information. What do you mean it can't read the drive? What is the exact error message?
Please post back...

Check in your BIOS to make sure your boot option is set to the A: drive, if not-then set it so. Sounds like your system is trying to boot from C:, where you used to have your OS>

I would suggest creating another one...or going here (http://www.bootdisk.com) and downloading a Win98 bootdisk....

Take the new bootdisk and try it in another machine, nothing permanent will happen if you boot to it...if it doesn't work in a second machine, keep trying maybe try a different brand of floppies...also there is the possibility that there is something wrong with the floppy drive...have you been inside the case? Is the light on the floppy drive constantly on?

Try reseating the cable paying attention to how it is oriented...the stripe on the cable (red or blue) is to ndicate pin 1...and pin 1 shoild be marked in the drive itself//////

Hi,

I just bought a brand new floppy drive, coz I thought that is the problem, I re-check and double the cables and make sure the pin are inserted right.
I have about at least 5 startup disk and none of then working. You think the there something wrong with the mother board?.
