After becoming very paranoid last night with my CPU temps as you can read in my other post lol. First I would like to thank all people who offered advice to aid me. Now heres the kicker. I have an AMD Athlon 1.4g T-bird and a AMD recommended heatsink fan for it and I idle at 60*C. Now everyone thinks thats hot (as well as i do) but i found this link last night and is important for anyone using Athlon and think they might be overheating.

Athlon Data Sheet (http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/white_papers_and_tech_docs/23792.pdf)

It seems that my processor has a max temp of 95*C so i am well within my limits. Looks like Athlon doesnt go by the "rule of thumb" for processors lol. The information on the heat temps is on page 20 of the booklet or page 34 of the PDF file. I hope this helps all, as it helped to ease my mind. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/tongue.gif

Thank you for the link OZ but those of us who use Athlons were already quite famaliar with that site. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

Don't take their recommendation to heart-it's their duty as a manufactorer to provide a safety margin for their products, trust me on this one-if you ever get an Athlon above 90* C it's toast.

Your CPU will perform better at a lower temperature, i still recommend you to try a different CPU fan, as this one doesn't seem to be cooling as adequately as it should.
