CD-RW Read Only

My problem is using my CD-RW.

I save data files (Word) onto my CD-RW no problem there. But they are data files I would like to be able to work on later and at different location, however,when I open them again they appear as 'read only' files. Now I can do a workaround - do the work on the files and then save them with a different name e.g. pcguide.doc, pcguide2.doc and so on. But there must be an easier way.

My OS is XP and I also have Nero 5.5.9

All suggestions welcomed. The easer the more welcomed.

If you just saved them to the CDRW then you can copy thme to the hard drive and change the attribute by right clicking the file ans selecting properties.

I take it you just copied the files to the CDRW, you didn[t use a program like InCD to put them on (InCD is part of Nero...it is "packet writing" software) the disk?

Using INCD, you first format the disk and then it is able to be used like a giant floppy, with no need to change the attributes of the files...you will be able to open and work on work on file right off the CDRW.
