I have just purchased a new Digital Camcorder. It is a nice minature Sony model.

The model is a Sony DCR-TRV355E PAL
SuperSteadyShot, Digital8, USB Streaming.

The digital camcorder used Digital8 system to record. I want to record from the digital8 medium to VHS medium but unable to do so.

I have read the manual but not sure how to set the input selector to "LINE".

These are the steps as per se the manual:

1) Inserting a VHS tape in the VCR for recording.
2) Prepare the VCR for recording, and then set the input selector to LINE?????
Connect the A/V connecting cable to the Audio video jack.
3)...
4)...
5) Start recording on the VCR.

I do not know how to set the input selector to LINE on my VCR!!!

PLEASE HELP,

PS:
My plan is to use it with my computer but first I need to purchase a firewire card for my computer and a firewire cable for the camcorder. As the Digital camcorder is fairly expensive I have decided I will forgo this in the short run.

Depending on the age of your VCR you may or may not have a LINE level input option...

Usually you can find the option under MENU in the same vincinity that you would find CABLE, ANTENNA, etc...

You may need to do a Google search and see if you can find an on-line manual for your VCR if you don't have one...I'm assuming the manual of which you speak is for the Camcorder...

Thanks, I have managed to solve the problem. My VCR does not have a LINE selector or any such button.

I have realised that "LINE" channel comes directly after the terrestrial channels i.e. 1...5
