View Full Version : One obvious thing nobody ever seems to think of...

...is telling you which wire on an analog audio cable is supposed to go where. Simple, right? The cable is arranged so that the side with the red wire plugs into the "R" side. So simple that no manual or book ever seems to mention that detail; they just say, plug the thing in.

I spent three days trying to figure out why my new DVD-ROM drive wouldn't yield any sound before I finally thought about the simple expedient of flipping over the connector so that the wires were in the correct position. It's always the _little_ things...

I/we've always stressed the importance of checking the little things...like where the speaker cable is plugged in...is the AC adapter plugged in, power turned on etc...

But this one escaped all of us it seems. I know I never thought of it. Glad you found the problem, and thanks for letting us know.
