This card has been a pain in the butt. Maybe its just Win 2k thats a pain in the butt.

Can somebody direct me to a good reference site for understanding how to tweak/configure/overclock a video card for peak performance. My system is only a 400mhz AMD so I guess i'm going to have to lay off the bus and processor overclocking. Any tips for making this card run Warcraft3 better?

All game settings are on Low...i've got a good cooling setup...are there card settings that would increase the speed while sacrificing image quality?

any advice or links would be greatly appreciated.

I would start by downloading the latest Detonator drivers from nVidia:

thanks very much. yeah...it took me a while to get that part over with...my first experience installing a video card. I also downloaded a new driver for the AGP bus controller which actually made the card go from unuseable and unreliable to useable. Now its just slow.

Check your video card's settings in Display Properties/Settings/Advanced for anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering. If these options are present, then disable them.
Also, select 'Best Performance' under Mipmap if that option is there.

After doing the above(or if those options are not present), and you're still getting slow frame rates with the latest drivers and the lowest game's settings(incl. resolution), then the only way to improve game performance is to upgrade.

I adjusted the video card settings and got a slight improvement in game speed. I feel better knowing i've tried everything short of upgrade...now it has become apparent that I am pushing my little brother's computer about as far as I can without doing something silly like overclocking it.

Time to work on a new system.

Thanks for the help.
