I've updated to DirectX 9 and the DirectX diagnostic tool test informs me that my EONtronics Voodoo2 card display driver does not support hardware accelerated Direct3D 9. I've searched the net for updated drivers but without any success for any Voodoo2 DirectX 9 drivers. Can anyone help!!

Have you been here?

You didn't mention which OS you are using...

It is probably time to retire that card, and move it off to a machine that isn't going to be needing to be upgraded. Since Voodoo folded there are no more official drivers, and those being supplied by third parties are just not going to have the support (program and problem/customer service) that drivers supplied by an active company would.

It seems to me to be expecting too much from the card for it to handle the latest from MS.

While the Voodoo card will not be able to take advantage of DirectX 9, it should still operate normally.

Yep, no support...

I probably should have drawn the lines between the dots to the falconfly drivers...

It came from a Voodoo forum where an individual was looking for an XP driver and the recommendation by the moderator was for the PeDiniz XP driver...which according requester solved the problem and was working wonderfully...

But, sadly...at your own risk...:(

It will function normally....if all you do is surf with it.

The default XP driver ensures minmal functionality. (In other owrds everything is done at the software level and many newer games will not work).

If your looking to get a CPU upgrade look into a POWERLEAP CPU go to www.powerleap.com -- I did it with a pent 450 [XPS R450] and it turned it into a PENT III 1.3 Ghz--nice upgrade about $130
