No Sound

Going to try to make a long story short. Purchased Computer 4 mos ago.
Have never had sound. Have been dealing with the manuf. as I have a 3 yr warranty.

Reality - their warranty has cost me to much time and money! :mad: As I am taking internet courses where many of my lectures are in video format I have got to get sound.

I have gone thru all the trouble shooting pages related to no sound -
directed to contact manuf
Contacted Manuf tech - walked thru more trouble shooting -
Said it was the motherboard
Had tech come out to install Motherboard-
Board did not fit
Tech on site said it was the CD-ROM
Manuf tells me it's not the Motherboard it is the sound card
sent Sound Card
Recieved and Installed Sound Card
Still no sound

When I say no sound I have no system sounds, no prerecorded sounds, and no sound from the CD-ROM.

You should at least have sound from the case speaker even if the internal speakers aren't working. The fact that you don't suggests that the motherboard may well be the problem and a computer maker that brings the wrong board to install is not promising.

Before we can do anything much to help you are going to need to tell us a lot more about your system and about the problem. What are your system specs, what is the sound card, what brand of computer are you working with and so on??? What other troubleshooting have you done already and what version of Windoze are you using???

I went through hours of - do this, check that, reboot. I can not begin to tell you everything we checked.

Windows XP, NVIDIA, Cyberpower Computer, X86-based PC, x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 1 AuthenticAMD ~1730 Mhz

Well maybe someone else will be able to help. To me it sounds like you need to return the computer and get one that works.

If you bought the extended warranty, please make them fix or replace it.
