Question for the board :)

Brother has a Desktop clone. Computer is approximately 7 years old. PC was always left on; recently PC lost all power completely (was gone when power was lost-not in use at the time). Tried couple simple troubleshoots. Please advise. Power supply issue ? Thanks in advance, MG :)

Yes, sounds very much like a dead power supply.....but be warned, if it is not a standard AT power supply you will have a difficult time finding one at a cheap enough price to make it worth replacing.

So what brand is this machine?

What troubleshooting have you done already? It could be the power supply, but it could be almost anything else.... You could certainly try a different power supply if you have one handy. I would also do a visual inspection of the motherboard to see whether there is any visible damage. A power surge could have fried your CPU or motherboard or other components...

Please say as much as possible about specs and what you have done so we have a better idea of what you are dealing with....
