Couple days ago i installed, on clean formated disk, Win XP Professional
I doesnt had any problems with hardware or partitions or software, everything works fine but no more than that, you know what i mean...
first of all, after 98 SE i expected faster startup, but starting up is so long almost 3 minutes...ok ok i have a very poor PC but win 98 was doing start for 30 sec or so...
Does anyone know for some good utility for ''making up'' WinXP to work faster (i dont mean on start up programs & applications which i use but on win xp services in background...to turn off, but dont attack system stability)
and is there some Update,or Service Packs for Win Xp...and what to install
i need experience here :)

BlackViper (http://www.blkviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm) would be a good place to start.

WinXP is generally slower and if your PC is marginal for it, it can really crawl, but Black Viper will help to improve that. There are definitely Service Packs for WinXP and you need to install them immediately since several of the nastiest bugs around these days exploit vulnerabilities that the Service Packs address....

Windows XP also seems to need a little more memory to help it run better (from what I've happened to see). How much memory are you running?
From what I have came across, at the very least 128MB, but 256MB would be even better. If this is not the case then I am sure someone will correct me.

You are way below the minimum even MS sets for XP; and it's accepted that whatever minimum they set you always double it to get the actual requirements; ie-in this case MS recommends 128 MB's of RAM, so it's best to run at least 256 MB's to get it to perform at it's advertised specs.
In order for you to see any benefit to its use on that old machine, you'd literally have to pare it down to the bare minimum, whcihc in affect means turning off every visual eye candy service & turning off other unecessary additional services.
Either upgrade the memory to at least 192 MB's, or just leave 98 on it.

okay thanks thanks,thats similar
and like you can see i have poor PC configuration,so these tweaking don't make my system to work more faster, lets say normal ''up time'' is 2 minutes or so and with ''Super Tweak'' i get 1 minut and 10,20 sec or so...
but with ''Super Tweak'' i get problems with hardware(sound card driver...) so i dont want to use that configuration anymore...
''Safe'' configuration is now best way for me,up time is exactly 1 minute and 40 sec.

like i said now i used ''safe'' configuration from BlackViper
but i have small problem
because i use often CD burning,i need Imapi service which is in XP
at default configuration this is set to ''manual''
i set that in services.msc to start up ''automatic''
but this doesnt started on start up,and question is, WHY?
still i can manually started that, but i would like if i can started that automatically...
