XP gaming problems

hio,i have a problem with my widows xp.Everytime I start up 1 of my games like command and conquer:generals,it simply runs fine for about five minuted then shuts down the program with the message Sorry,a serious error has occured.O and by the way this happens with several of my games and it does NOT happen with my laptop downstairs.Does anyone have any suggestions.P.S my laptop has internet and my xp does not so consider this too plz.:mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

Can you post back with the spec of your PC and the error (if poss) please.

The fact that you are getting an error warning is unusual, but otherwise it sounds like a heat problem. As Jiggy asked, tell us more so we can make some educated guesses....
