I thought you managed putting in a new harddrive, putting in a cdrom new ram and so putting in a new board won't be problem for Mr. Bitsandbytes. But I was so wrong. No one told me about those little (how do i call them?) something like seperator screw (?) between case and boadr. Is it over now now? I did not see any sparks or fires when i turned the power on. Now i have put in the screws and (nearly) nothing happens. Only the little red lcd on the board is on and the cooler of the AMD chip starts to rotate for a second or so. Thats all. Please. I need help urgently.

Hi,
Well, as you can imagine, this is not good. You have very likely fried the motherboard and very possibly the processor along with it.
When you use those mounting screws, make sure to use the cardboard washers that will normally come in the hardware packet included with the motherboard. You have to use at least a couple screws for stability, but then you can use the plastic standoffs, if your case is so designed.
Time to go shopping my friend. You have learned a very valuable lesson, that I'm sure you will never forget. Don't worry though, we have all done that.
Good luck.

Clarification: You must either use the metal or plastic standoffs supplied with the motherboard. You have to keep it from contacting the case at any point. Use the plastic standoffs where you can, and at least two metal standoffs with screws and cardboard washers to secure the motherboard in the case.
You must have the clearance of the motherboard from the sides of the case, otherwise, your peripheral cards, (soundcard, video card, modem, etc.) will not fit correctly.
