Hi, I can't decide which of these to buy, after reading reviews on both mobos. What I'm looking for is stability and no-fuss setup, because it's going to be DIY.

My primarily usage is gaming and design work. Any comments?

I have no experience with the Gigabyte board, but I've been running an earlier version of the Asus board for almost a year. It's rock solid stable and fast right out of the box.

If and when you order the A7N8X, you will no doubt receive the ver 2.0 model, which officially supports 400Mhz FSB. Can't go wrong with Asus, that's my opinion.

What you could do to help you make up your mind, is head on over to the forums at www.amdmb.com. Check both the Asus and Gigabyte forums to get an idea of the successess and problems people are having with each board.

i got a gigabyte 7vaxp for about a year now and haven't had any problems with it. But, i would recommend going with the asus board for gaming.....

I too have the A7N8X, and while it is a very nice board, a friend of mine has the Gigabyte 7N400Pr0 and I must say I am JEALOUS! Very nice, stable, fast and feature rich board.Sata Raid, ATA 133 Raid, up to 10 drives and 4 DIMM slots.

Look at the 7N400Pro, less expensive than the 7NNXP, and the only difference is no dual LAN (just one) and no DPS. If I could do it over, I would get the Gigabyte (not that I'm unhappy with the Asus though);)

I recently bought Gigabytes 7N400 Pro, and it is indeed a nice board, particularly with a Barton 2500XP to go with it.
