IE wont install

Im trying to in stall Internet explorer but I just get a screen saying cannot proceed not microsoft xp compatible, go to Microsoft website . can someone help

Which version of IE are you trying to install?

It wont install any version

IE6 is integral to WinXP - so the first question is how did you "lose" it from XP in the first place? Repairing XP might be an option.
