Sounds like that file got corrupted. If you Right click on your desktop and select Properties, it will give you a window with options for your display including changing your cursors. You could try changing to a different cursor and see if it works ok. If it doesn't you may have another problem....

Other things to check include running a spyware scanner and checking for trojans/hijackers. Changing cursors are often clues that something has intruded your system and antivirus programs don't pick up on this kind of thing...

That probably means that the whole scheme is corrupt. If you change to a different scheme, it will probably change all the cursor types and look normal. However, something corrupted it, so the security scans would still be a good idea. Also, if you are only getting low resolution, that suggests a display adapter problem and you probably need to check that in Device Manager from Safe Mode. If you find more than one driver, Remove them all and reinstall the correct one....

I'm leaning towards video driver problems...period.

Reinstall or update the drivers for your video card.

Also if you have the choice between hardware/software for the pointer/cursor switch from whichever it is currently set at (usually a video card driver option).

Video driver.

Go to your add/remove programs and unistall any reference to a video driver you find there, then reinstall the most current version you have.

I also suggest doing this from safe mode.

Go to Guru3d-voodoo files (http://download.guru3d.com/pafiledb.php?action=category&id=11) to get the latest drivers for you card.

Side note-you may want to upgrade that ol' voodoo; cause she " won't do that voodoo she did so well" anymore ;)
