If you moved an email adress from one computer to another computer, would you still get the same spam? Does spam build up because hidden cookies and things are on your computer, or does spam build up because companies have your email adress in their computers?
Basically, will moving an email adress to another computer do anything to decrease crap spam?
Thanks.,

Moving an email address brings the SPAM with it. You get SPAM because a SPAMmer got your email address and sold it to other SPAMmers and so forth. Once they have it, the only way to dump it is to dump the email address. One way to do this is to sign up for a free email account somewhere and use it when you have to give your address. Once it becomes too saturated with SPAM, close it and open a new one. You can also use a program like MailWasher (http://www.mailwasher.net/) to screen email and avoid downloading the SPAM. It will bounce the SPAM back saying that the your address doesn't exist, but this only works when the SPAM comes from a legitimate email address. Keep in mind that you NEVER respond to a SPAM with a request to be removed from their list since this just confirms you have an email address and gets you put on more lists.... :(
