Problems in Age of Mythology

I recently bought Age of Mythology (2CDs)

During installation, it gave and error message that a particular file was unable to be read from the CD.

Three options were given:
ABORT ; RETRY ; SKIP/IGNORE

First i tried retry but it failed so then i clicked on "SKIP".
The installation continued and completed successfully.

Now whenever i run the game a strange thing is encountered:
The mini-map shows the units(as dots), but the big(main) map does not show them at all!
However, they move if i select them by windowing around a large area arounnd them and order them to move but still they remain INVISIBLE.

PLAEASE HELP.

Clean off that CD! There has to be a scratch or smudge mark or something making the CD unreadable. If you can repair it, do so. Otherwise, take the game back to where you bought it and exchange it. Most stores don't give refunds on opened software but an equal exchange is usually OK.

Oh, and you'll have to uninstall and reinstall the game. :(

The file which got corrouption during installation may the basic need of this game... The CD has problem may bbe due to skratches or during writing process. the only methoed for this problem is to change ur 2nd CD from shopkeeper......

Assalam-o-Alaikum masterleous,

I went to the shopkeeper and got both the CDs replaced.
The problem vanished.

btw, the game doesn't look to be that great considering its system requirements and 2CDs.
