I read this and I was totally amazed. I wonder how long it would be before they were able to stablize it to actually make it work on a day to day basis.

Sun finds way to make computers 100 times faster (http://straitstimes.com/latest/story/0,4390,211280,00.html?)

We can only hope,
I think at that point tech will really start moving into everyday life, even more than it is today.
I am sure that sooner rather than later everything will instantaneous.
Very cool times we live in.
Mark:)

I'm guessing you'd have to have a little more knowleddge to Build-your-own computer.

I agree with mark. It will most likely be quite some time before these come into everyday life.

That would be awesome.

Think of the petential. We could..... THINK about clicking or typing and it would click/type:eek:  :D  . Well maybe not that soon.

Amazing it is no doubt, but aren't developments of this kind to be expected ?
We'll see a lot more quite amazing things along this line the next few years, I am sure.

My current main computer is MORE than a hundred times faster than my first computer, at least measured in Mhz... I think that we eventually get to the point that we have the equivalent of a supercomputer on our wrists with full voice interactivity, it is just a matter of time....

keep in mind that everything being discussed is still theoretical not to mention expensive

What is expensive today will be cheap tomorrow. My first computer was over $2ooo and as Budfred said the newer ones are at least 100 times more powerful. Theoretical also can become reality, look at how far wi-fi has come.
Very cool

Look here (http://business-times.asia1.com.sg/story/0,4567,94915,00.html), or do a google news search for something like "sun computers faster chips."

I remember hearing something a couple years ago about some company that developed a faster chip medium.. I forget what the deal was, but it basically cut resistance into pieces. Whatever it was, it was a genuine development in ICs.. motorola or m- something. Whatever I'll stop rambling.
