Im into real estate but not involved directly with it. More of developing the rural areas around the resorts which my company puts up. OH, im from the Philippine Islands, so the resort culture here is basically bringing business to the "south" which are the rural and less developed areas.

I'm a student, which basicly means I don't work much at all, unless you count parties, which is pretty heavy duty 'round here :D

pave you crack me up:D

I have been in construction for about 29 years now. I got hurt a while back and during my healing time I went to school for computers. I had planned on this being my permanent day job but has turned into more of a hobby. After a year and a half back to work in construction, I am now moving into real estate investing.

I'm a customer service rep for a local utility (electric). Which basically means I get yelled at all day. :(

Well, not all day. I do have some other responsibilites like basic accounting-type-stuff, billing data verification, cyberslacking... ;)

I'm the Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer for three companies. Most days it's more like a Glorified Bookkeeper. :D

The owner of the company that I've worked at for 16 years recently started "starting up" two other companies and invited me to keep the books for them, all at a premium hourly rate on top of my full-time salary.

I'm so tired I don't know which end is up most of the time, but the extra dough is nice. Means I can buy more computer parts. :D

BigBlue: but are you happy with your job?? :)

I guess that's what counts :)

Other than being worn out all the time, I am happy with the work. After all, I did spend countless hours in a classroom to become qualified for this work, so I guess I had better like it, eh? :D

I'm lucky though. I pick my own hours to work and I don't have a boss breathing down my neck. I get to see the whole picture, rather than getting stuck in one department of a corporate structure.

I don't have to deal with back stabbers or the water cooler gossip.

I'm pretty much a one-man department, although I do have an assistant for the more mundane chores. The only problem is when I want to take some time off. My work piles up on me while I'm gone. It takes me a couple of days before vacation working at a feverish pitch to get everything done for the period that I'm gone, and then at least a week to catch up when I return.

It could all be much worse and I realize that. When I think back on some of the crappy, deadend, back breaking jobs I've had, my present situation doesn't look all that bad.

hmm i guess we're the same! im a one man department here and I NEED AN ASSISTANT! although comopany policy dictates set hours, i get to come and go as I want coz i dont have a time-in-out card. It's fun really, because I also do get to see the big picture of my work and I report directly to the boss of my company :)

What about the other guys?

Well, after 13 of the past 19 months off due to a shoulder injury, I'm just startin' some partime work with one of the large bowling companies. Troubleshooting machinery and working on the computers. Spent six months last year doing constuction up in the mountains. I complained alot but I loved it...:)
