The latest P4's use an 800MHz FSB, yes. The AthlonXP's, however, are varied - only the top-end AthlonXP uses a 400MHz FSB. The others use a 333MHz FSB.
Don't let the numbers fool you, tho! While a higher FSB speed is important, so is the pure power of the CPU on it. And the P4 isn't nearly as efficient as the AthlonXP, but its clock speed is higher... ;)
So would an Athlon 2800 be faster than a P4 2.2 (all other things being equal). I think I saw that the 2800+ runs at 2.2Ghz?
Which cpu is better for video editing?. I can get an Athlone 2800+ with 1 GB ddr for the same price as a P4 2.4 with 512DDR - I don't know which to go for?
Is there any place that I can see the differences?
thanks for any help,
Anto.
I would definately opt for the AMD.. A lot more cpu power for your £ (or $) Video editing - the extra RAM will be very beneficial.
As for the numbers, I dont beleive there is a huge amount to choose between them.
Reviews .. check out pretty much any PC magazine either online or in your local shop they almost always carry comparisons.
EDIT - I found something on pcworld.com..

Something to start with maybe :)
