Hi,
Hope someone can answer this. My friend's computer is a Presario 2266. It has to be rebooted like 15 to 20 times before it can get past the Compaq (Red Letters on Back Screen). Is there anyway to disable the Compaq Logo on the Screen from coming up? Thanks in advance for your advice. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

The compaq logo is nothing more than a display . Used while the bios does a check of the system and the hardware gets up to speed.
Disabling it wouldn’t do a thing to help the system boot.
In fact it’s a way to tell if the video is working.

I’d look at the add in cards and system settings for the reason for the hard boot.
Also check the unit for Dust Bunnies. ( Dirt and dust build up inside the case)
Power supply out put.

And when dealing with an old compaq the Hard drive first and foremost.
You would be surprised at some of the junk drives they have used over the years
