Hi guys, it's been a long absent from the forum. Now I have a question for you all. If it's true then I have been saved by a miracle because I've opened a PSU with a friend to get a fan:eek:.
HEHE :D

It is possible for a disconnected power supply to retain enough charge to seriously inconvenience and yes even kill someone who happens to touch the wrong set of contacts.
If suitably extreme care is taken it is unlikely, just dont go using the "What does this do?" technique.:D

Deagle,
It is unlikely to get fried by opening a PSU, with the exception of one connected to a CRT type monitor.....those CAN kill you.

I recently cleaned out an old PSU from a co-worker's P100 system. Lots of dust, so I took it to the extreme. I disassembled it and submerged it in water! :D Let's hope it survives a reboot... :p
Saphalline.......make sure it is 100% dry before you try or you have a lovely fireworks show.
Putting it an oven on low (under 200 degrees) or some other suitibly warm spot for at least overnight..........

I hope thats farenheit :p, my oven only goes up to 240 so 200 could hardly be considered low in that case!
Yes, that is degrees F......
one with a piolet light would work.
