I am having another problem with a new computer. Custom built Atlon 1.4 gig /256 ram /windows 98/dvd/cdr. Problem is/ The computer will start internally( light comes on front and i hear hard drive start) but sometimes the monitor will go from green light to yellow standby yellow light when i push computer power button and computer wont boot windows and monitor goes to standby mode. I have to keep re-starting with start button on computer until it finally boots windows and light on monitor stays green. Sometimes it starts first time Sometime takes 5 or 6 times. Once it starts it runs fine.

I’d start by checking the Video connection. And settings.
Make sure the card is properly seated in the slot and that all cable connections are tight.

Also make sure the bios is set correctly for the card in use.
Check the video card spec’s for requiring and IRQ to be assigned to it.
The bios settings for slot speed. (Agp 2, 4,) shadow, and check first settings (PCI or AGP)

also If you are over Clocking it (CPU+Video Card) set to the normal specs .
