My computer stopped to load win98 and can't recognize the CD-Rom.
How to define the CD-Rom again so I can reinstall windows?

Make sure that the CD-ROM drive's cables are securely connected, that IDE 2(secondary controller) is enabled in BIOS, and there's no problem with that controller in Device Manager.

If those are ok, then connect a different power cable to it.

If no luck, then try a different IDE cable.

If still no luck, then the drive may be bad.
Install it on a different system, and if the same thing happens, then replace the drive.

Thank you for your reply.
Should I define it under IDE Primary Slave, IDE Secondary Master or IDE Secondary Slave?

You are welcome.

Connect it to the IDE 2(secondary channel), and jumper it as either Master or Slave if no other drives are connected to that channel.
If another drive is connected, then jumper it as Master if the other one is Slave, and vice-versa.

If that does not work, then connect it to IDE 1(primary) as Slave.

Wait a minute though...

Are you saying that you were trying to install Win98 and the install failed??? If you are, you will need a bootdisk that enables CD support to do the Win98 install. If you don't have one, you can download one at Bootdisk.com (http://www.bootdisk.com/) and if that is not what you are saying, ignore this and do what ski is saying...
