I have a really old CTX monitor I think it is like 14 inches, it has worked pretty good for about ten years but now it is starting to flash green or blue hues instead of the normal bright color it usually had. I have an AMD Athlon K7 700 Mhz with 128 meg ram an ATI Rage 128 Xpert 2000 32 Meg. I can solve the problem for a little while by wiggling the cord, but it always goes back to the same dull bluish or greenish. Is my monitor going to just quit or is it just being old.
I would say if wiggling the cord clears it up temporarily then the problem lies with the cord. Quite possibly at the end where the connector is, but if it is a molded connector then you'll need a shop to replace it, if you are lucky and it has connectors on both ends, it can easily be replaced, with by just getting a new one..if it has a "clamshell" (two metal shell halves held together with screws)...you might be able to get a kit to build a new connector from some hwere like Radio Shack...
