View Full Version : stay away from Emachines!

I am writing to expression my frustration with Emachines and to suggest that people should not buy their PCs. I have had two Emachine 600is's die in three months. Stay away from them!
I am also writing to find out more about my rights as a consumer. They refuse to give me my money back. They have offered to replace the machine--an option I don't want because I have had such a bad experience with them. I feel completely disserviced. I would appreciate it if anyone out there were to let me know about any sites that spell out my rights as a consumer.

Thanks,
Matt357a

Contact the state Attorney General's office, Better Business Bureau, or Chamber of Commerce. One of them is bound to be able to point you in the right direction.

Any time i have had a problem as a consumer, i have just keep at them everyday, everyhour. if the person your talking to isn,t giving you what you want talk to the next higher up, If you have to go to the top go there.Make some noise, write some letters, have some back up. sometimes they just get sick of you and will give you what you want to shut you up.
But make sure you have read the fine print, if it says somewhere that they don't have to give your money back and just a credit, you
might be out of luck.

Good luck to you

Oh ya and be nice as you go about it, as hard as that is to do. But it gets you farther.

Not to be in support of any manufacturer, but, sometimes things are bad right out of the box. Yes I know exactly what you are going thru, 2 machines dead in 3 months and refusal to make it right.
This very thing happened to me with a now extinct manufacturer and a large mass sales electronics firm http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif It was this very incident that drove me to do what I do now with computers.

MAKE SOME NOISE It pays off http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif I got all of my money back on the tower with no box to put it in. 2 years later I got a store credit on the monitor because it was junk also.
Don't be affraid to stand outside a store for a couple of days and talk to everybody that walks in. Trust me, they will give you your money http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
OH YEA, Welcome to the PC Guide.
