Inernet options can not be changed from within internet explorer
Though it can be done through start-settings-internet options. Also in this system I used regedit from 'run' but next time i found that the box was blank without my doing so.Mouse can not open the application by double click. I think all these problems are due to improper registry of the system. system is HCL Infiniti 2000 with Pentium III and Windows 98. Have any idea for all these problems? Thank you in anicipation.
What version of IE?
What is this system used for...the are several things that can be done to limit the access to certain Windows tools to prevent them from being changed. If this machine is an office machine the systems administrater may have limited access to them...

Vesion is IE5;
system is stand alone.No addminisrater is there,and I used dialup connection, I solve problem of mouse by decreasing the speed of double clicking in mouse property.but other problem remain as it is.Generaly in run cammand, previously typed command remain in combobox,we have to edit registry to remove it but in this system it found blanks when we open it.What is the wrong with system? is it corrupt registry or any other problem?

have you ran (run?) scanreg_/fix ?
run from DOS, the _ represents a sp_ace.
( the ? question mark is not part of the command switch)
