Someone I know, (who is using WME) tells me that their OS isn't creating any check points in system restore. They do turn off their computer every day. I did create a check point but they said it's not there. I figured because it's been a few weeks since I did it.

Switching the system on or off does not affect the system restore feature. They are created daily and at the time of significant system events (such as when an application or driver is installed). The actual number of saved restore points depends on how much activity there has been on your computer, the size of your hard disk (or the partition that contains your Windows folder), and how much disk space has been allocated on your computer to store System Restore information.

Have you checked whether the feature is enabled and sufficient space is provided because If you run out of disk space, System Restore becomes inactive. When you have made sufficient disk space available, System Restore is automatically activated, but all previous restore points are lost.

I don't know what the status is on the hard-drive at the moment. I did show them at work how to check it on their home computer. I'm under the impression that they just did a reformat/reinstall, I would guess there's ample room. I'll have to check on that, thanks. Also thanks for the links.
