Hey Gang,
Working on a Thinkpad 600, Model No. 2645-85U. Have never troubleshoot a laptop before.
Client says it's giving some sort of Post Error code and won't boot. Sure as heck I looked up the post code and among other things like the system board, the code pointed to a dead fan. Sure as heck, I turn the unit on and I can't see the fan spinning...it's dead.
So the next obvious step is to take the dang thing apart and try to get a replacement fan.
I have removed all the obvious screws on the bottom of the machine, plus four on the back, two on each side. Also removed one inside the battery compartment. Still can't get the thing to budge.
Anybody have any ideas? What other screws do I have to undo? Anybody have a URL to a site that shows how to take apart a laptop?
Warranty has long since expired, so no worries there. Just want to get the thing going again.
TIA.
