WILL NOT BOOT UP!

Hello,
Can someone please help me. My computer will not start up Windows 98. It goes straight to an E:\> prompt and will do nothing. I have tried starting it with a recovery disk and the Windows disk and still nothing. Is there anything that I can do?

Did you add any thing recently to your cpu, like a sound card or something.
If so you might have a resource conflict. Take the new stuff out and try to boot up. Also hold down f8 after your cpu post, should say something bout safe mode, click go into to safe mode, if you get there , click ok, it will say your now in safemode. Then restart windows from there and see if it boots up.
