I have standard usb on my Abit kr7a-133r motherboard. Is there any way to put usb 2.0 on my computer or do I need a different motherboard if I want usb 2.0? Can usb 2.0 run under standard usb and it will just be slowed down ? Just wondering because I am looking at a canon 5000f scanner and I just realized it says for usb 2.0. Thanks

If you have a free PCI slo, I think you can add a USB 2 PCI adapter card very easily.

Definitely the way to go, get a USB 2.0 PCI card. Less than 20 bucks and the difference in speed for your scanner will be WELL worth it.
Example USB card (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=manufactory&catalog=73&manufactory=1015&DEPA=1&sortby=14&order=1)

Generally USB 2.0 devices will run on standard USB ports, but they will be very s...l...o....w....... As malcore and shanmuga suggests, a USB 2.0 card is a good alternative. I have one in my main system and it works well....
