I'm having this problem with staying signed into MSN Messenger, I know It's my Proxxy settings here at my school, and I was wondering if there's anyway of by-passing them so I can Sign-in and stay signed into messenger, as well I can't get into the PC Guides Chat room either. Keeps giving me a "timed-out" error:(
I'm currently doing a networking course, and working on my A+, I have some questions, and my instructors here are idiots. MY Instuctor resently got a job at Mircosoft, so we're all here suck with ppl that know less then I do when it comes to computers. I will possible be asking alot of questions, so I'm not sure if there's anyone here that knows alot about A+(my guess is yes, I'm just not sure who;)) So I guess umm my question is can someone tell me where I should direct my questions when they are directed on my A+?
Thnx Sheryl:D

I don't know about A+ dealings, but I do know you came to the right place! Welcome to El Grando Paradiso De ... computeros-thingy, stuff...
Never mind that. Just put your questions in the forum that seems most appropriate, most people here keep an eye on new threads as they start up, so eventually (and usually pretty fast) someone who knows more comes along...
Cya 'round!

Hello CDI_Student.
“I wanna tell you a little story”.
[It was told by my wife’s brother at a wedding celebration].
A young man [rather as you are] was walking along a road on his way to find a new town to live in and he came across an old man sitting by the side of the road.
So the young man asks the old man if the people in the town ahead are nice or not.
The old man asks the young man what the people were like in the town he just came from.
“The people there are idiots” he said.
“Well, the people in the town ahead are idiots too” said the old man.
The young man went to live in the town and found that the old man was right.
And the moral of this tale?
I’ll let you work it out for yourself.

Sorry about the delay in replying CDI_Student [Ms].
Now there I go making assumptions!
This highlights the gender problem.
In the absence of any knowledge of gender I tend to fall back on the idea that we are all members of that species called “Man”.
That a Womb-Man [Woman for short (Wame-Man in Lowland Scots)] is just a special kind or sub-grouping of man.
I wish I could do more to help with your problem, but it’s a topic I know little about.
I get those symptoms when I don’t have a connection to the Web.
Is your firewall blocking the software?
Is there a hardware problem showing in Device Manager? [Perhaps your Network Interface card?]
How do you know it’s the Proxy that’s at fault?
Perhaps you could teach me what you know.

So When I was connecting back to the internet, my lovely instuctor gave me the proxy address for my comp... so lil smart cookie me,;) I just took the address and copied it into the proxy settings box in "connections" for MSN messenger:) now I don't have any problems connecting and staying connected to MSN or even Yahoo messenger now:D Wow I'm proud I figured it all on my own  I just can't believe I didn't think of it earlier:( oh well fixed now:D So umm yeah ty for trying to help or just responding to my thread.:) (kiss) ;)
