New Problem

Im having problems running some games. I am succesful when installing but when its done and I go to run it, it does nothing. The CD spins up for a second the hard drive makes some noise and then nothing. I have installed and reinstalled time and time again. Its not just one game either, i have tried this with three seperate games all with the same result. Its a mystery to me... can any one shed any light on this!
