I recently put together my own computer using a KG7 motherboard with a 1.4 AMD thunderbird running on win 2000 pro. The system works great as long as I do not have to re-boot the system sue to a software upgrade. When I try to re-boot my screen goes blank and nothing happens. The system fans all remain on and the CD-ROM will make a noise like it is trying to start up but then nothing happens. This also occurs after I exit from the BIOS menu. A friend told me that I might try to flash the BIOS but I cant figure out how to do that from win 2000.

Any help would be great!
THX

If it started after putting software on it, uninstall it, and go here and try to find issues at the microsoft database.http://search.support.microsoft.com/kb/c.asp?fr=0&SD=GN&LN=EN-US

Welcome Wade....

Go to www.google.com (http://www.google.com) and type in KG7 Motherboard. On the selections that are given click on Paul's Abit KG7 FAQ Section. You'll find much information at this site.

Luck.

I found out the problem was my Netgear fa312 network adapter. I switched it with another one and now it works just fine.
